Bonfire night - excuse for a new front door?
5th Novenber 2010
composite doors

Bonfire night is nearly upon us and as usual this year we expect to see a vast array of fireworks, local bonfires and sparklers in force. Selecta recognise that bonfire night is often characterised by friends getting together around the bonfire and is very much a social occasion. The amount of wood that is required to sustain a fire is dependant upon how big you want the fire and how long you would like the fire to continue. Some of the bonfires that you see on television would require three quarters of a forest to maintain but a fire that big is too hot to get close to and imposes quite a threat to the safety of yourself and your guests.

Composite doors have gained support from environmental law. Noise currently accounts for most of the complaints that local councils and the Environment Agency receieve about environment pollution, and it is also a major source of stress. There are various methods that can be undertaken to resolve issues with noise such as soundproofing walls or perhaps the amazing notion of potentially speaking to the perpetrators and explaining the problem. Whilst sound proofing walls would help enormously, home owners should be warned that this is a costly business.

Wikipedia have suggested that the colour blue tends to be the most popular choice in rating systems. The issue of the most popular colour depends on various factors, such as seasons, current fashions, countries and purpose. For example, if one is talking about favourite car colours, in the UK the favoured colour is blue whilst in North America it is apparently silver, unless one is referring to SUVs and trucks, for which the favourite colour is white. Wikipedia states that blue tends to win most generalised surveys and that it consistently comes out on top according to age groups and gender.

Composite doors appear to have gained more support through recent infestation of unwanted house pests. With the damp weather that has been sweeping through England, particularly the North East despite the promise of summer, large numbers of slugs are entering households causing unwarranted stress to homeowners.
